National Sport Organization (NSO)
This component of the Sport Support Program assists sport organizations in their pursuit of sport objectives that are shared by the federal government. Support provided to National Sport Organizations is targeted to priority areas consistent with the objectives of the Canadian Sport Policy.

More Canadians watched amateur sporting events in 2005 than in 1998. The number of spectators increased from 7,6 million or 32% of adult Canadians in 1998 to 9.2 million or 35% in 2005.
