Service Standards for Canada Games

Service standards for Canada Games

Due to the process involved and the nature of their business, Canada Games constitutes an exception to the requirement for service standards imposed by the Treasury Board Secretariat Policy on Transfer Payments. The following lines of justification have been provided:

The Canada Games delivery timeline is beyond the control of Canadian Heritage. Funding is based on a federal/provincial/territorial framework. Canada Games is required to make additional funding requests through federal/provincial/territorial financial discussions which require an inconsistent amount of time to secure.

The demand from Canada Games’ client base for service standards is non-existent, as the program is able to work very closely with their applicants, ensuring clear expectations regarding funding decisions.
