Jurisprudence
Jurisprudence is the body of decisions made by courts and tribunals. In Canada, when a court rules on a copyright case, it takes into account existing Canadian jurisprudence.
In Canada, various bodies have the authority to render judgements with regard to copyright.

The Copyright Board renders, as per its mandate, decisions on the following subjects:
- Levies when the management of copyright is entrusted to a collective management society.
- Revision of agreements made between users and collective societies
- Unlocatable copyright owners
