Books: Programs
For more than half a century, the Government of Canada has had policies and programs in place to support the creation of books that reflect our distinctive and dynamic culture.
The Canada Book Fund (CBF) is one such program. Every year, publishers supported by the program produce well over 6,000 new Canadian-authored titles by more than 4,000 Canadian writers and translators.
The CBF has two streams of support:
Support for Publishers offers publishing, business development and export funding to Canadian-owned firms.
Support for Organizations provides funding to book-industry associations for marketing, professional development, strategic planning, internships and technology projects.
