Certification Fee: Fee levy under the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit Program (CPTC)

The current service standard of the Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO) is the issuance of certificates within 10 weeks from receipt of a complete application.

In 2011-12, CAVCO received 2,200 applications, half of which were submitted as paper applications, the other half through the Department’s GCBO online application system.  On average, CAVCO issued certificates within 10 weeks or less for complete applications.  Paper applications caused the greater delay as they needed to be input manually into the GCBO system. As of April 1, 2012, CAVCO only accepts online applications which should ensure that all applications meet the service standard.

Other Information: In 2011-12, unforeseen technical issues also affected CAVCO’s performance.
