Bringing centuries-old history to light in the present through his voice, Aboriginal rapper Samian recites his poetry with the spirit of a warrior and tells the story of his people, for whom he has the utmost respect and recognition. Two albums later, Samian is now a role model for young people, who are inspired by his genuine words and are captivated by his musical world, where urban rhythms intertwine with the Algonquin language and traditional aboriginal instruments. Winner of the Félix Award for Hip Hop Album of the Year in 2011, he was nominated in the Writer or Composer of the Year category at the 2011 ADISQ Gala and was a nominee in three categories at the 2011 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards Gala. Samian is working on his third album, scheduled for release in the fall of 2013.
