Arthur Desmarteaux (Montréal Quebec)
Arthur Desmarteaux studied visual and media arts at Université de Montréal, then at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQUAM), from which he graduated in 2003. He has been an active member of Atelier Graff in Montréal for the past eight years, in addition to being a member of the Association québécoise des marionnettistes (AQM). He has created several pieces of scenography for Puppet Theater in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Allison Moore. He recently displayed work created with her at such galleries as Open Studio in Toronto, Artist Proof in Calgary and the SNAP in Edmonton. He also recently travelled to the Megalo studio in Australia to put on a shadow play with Allison. In 2011, he created a large mosaic in collaboration with Allison that is now permanently displayed at the library of Pointe aux-Trembles. Arthur will showcase his installation "Micropolis 2.0" at the 8e Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières to be held this summer. Now he is working on his new installation entitled "The Glorious Temple" which is a humorous homage to our national sport.
