Recent years have seen the launch of bold initiatives that have helped achieve impressive results. In 2007-2008, Canadian Heritage ranked among the top five federal departments in staffing-related performance (large organization category).
The Human Resources and Workplace Management Branch encourages employees to show leadership and creativity in developing bold and innovative work tools. Always at the forefront of new trends in its fields of expertise, the Branch is a two-time winner of the Mercer Vision Award, which honours innovation in the field of human resources (2004, 2006), and a recipient of the Public Service Award of Excellence for innovation (2005) and a three-time winner of the Michel C. Comeau Human Resources Leadership Awards (2005(2), 2009).
