• Glossary of intellectual property terms A glossary of the most commonly used terms in intellectual property, prepared by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).

With the rapid development of digital technologies and the increased use of Internet and new media by creators, producers and consumers, new copyright issues are emerging. In this context the Department of Canadian Heritage sponsors copyright studies to deepen understanding of aspects of copyright in this rapidly evolving environment.

These studies do not reflect the Government of Canada's position on the subjects addressed.
