Protection and promotion of national symbols
- administration of section 9.2 of the Trade Marks Act as it relates to the commercial use of national symbols (the national flag of Canada, the coat of arms, the stylized maple leaf, royal emblems);
- development and distribution of reference material and information documents such as the "Symbols of Canada" booklet and chart, the Coat of Arms of Canada booklet and poster, the "National Flag of Canada, a Profile" and the "Etiquette of Flags in Canada" brochures, other national emblems, the National Anthem, the Royal Anthem and public holidays.
