Reinforcement of constitutional links with the institutions of the Canadian Monarchy

The Program is responsible for the coordination of visits to Canada by members of the Royal Family, the family of The Queen of Canada.

The Program considers the hundreds of invitations received for royal visits, taking into consideration the geographical distribution, the celebration of national anniversaries, the wishes of the provinces and territories as well as the personal interests of the members of the Royal Family.

The Manager of Ceremonial and Canadian Symbols Promotion chairs the Committee on Government Hospitality, established by the Prime Minister, to advise the Government on royal visits programs.

The Program is also in charge of providing advice on the exercise of certain royal prerogatives, more precisely as it regards the use of royal emblems, the grant of royal patronage, the use of names and images of members of the Royal Family as well as the grant of the prefix "Royal" to Canadian institutions.
