On December 13, 2003 the Government of Canada cancelled the Communication Canada Sponsorship Program. At the same time, the Department of Canadian Heritage was asked to support meritorious projects which may be eligible within its existing programs.

Former clients of Communication Canada may be eligible for funding through Canadian Heritage's existing programs. Key Heritage programs that provide financial support in areas covered by the former Sponsorship Program include: Arts Presentation Canada, Celebration, Commemoration & Learning Program, certain Sport, Official Languages, Multiculturalism and Exchanges Canada programs.

Former clients that meet the terms and conditions of Canadian Heritage programs may qualify to receive assistance up to the amount provided in 2003-2004 by the Sponsorship Program of Communication Canada. For more information or assistance, call toll free: 1-866-811-0055
