Aid to Publishers

As announced by the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages on September 22, 2009, the Book Publishing Industry Development Program (BPIDP) has been streamlined and renamed the Canada Book Fund (CBF). By making this change, the Department of Canadian Heritage wishes to signal a shift in its focus from developing the industry to providing support to a mature industry that will help bring Canadian books to readers.

BPIDP Web pages will be archived here for one year to facilitate the transition. For information about the Canada Book Fund, please visit: http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca/book/.

The objective of Aid to Publishers is to support the ongoing production and promotion of Canadian-authored books through financial assistance to Canadian-owned and -controlled publishers.

The application deadline for 2009-2010 is April 1, 2009.

eForm: To complete your Aid to Publishers application electronically, download the Electronic Application Form below. Make sure to save the file to your computer. To do this in Internet Explorer, right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As..." (On Macintosh, control-click.) Other browsers have similar features. To submit your application, see the instructions on the last page of the eForm.
