Partnerships Fund

The Partnerships Fund is designed to assist partnership initiatives between not-for-profit, public and private organizations and institutions to connect all Canadians with the riches of Canada's heritage by making Canadian cultural collections held by provincial, municipal and local cultural organizations available via the Internet in both official languages.

2009-2010 Call for Proposals

At this time, the Department is particularly seeking projects for the development of online content, that:

  • provide a meaningful and seamless access to content that helps deepen an understanding of Canada and its rich diversity, particularly for the benefit of youth, students and lifelong learners in the areas of:
    • Canada's contemporary culture and artistic expression
    • Aboriginal culture
    • Francophone community content
    • Canada's cultural diversity, including the content of minority groups in Canada
  • are of high quality, innovative and undertaken by institutional and organizational networks or "Partners" from across the cultural heritage sector;
  • enable a website to present a digitized collection of existing cultural resources that is well explained, engagingly interpreted and easy to explore.

Throughout the assessment process, emphasis will be placed on content that promote the departmental priorities outlined above.

Who can apply?

Funding under the Partnerships Fund is available to:

  • Canadian registered or incorporated not-for-profit institutions active in the cultural or heritage sector;
  • public educational institutions;
  • First Nation (band or tribal council), Métis settlement or Inuit equivalent government;
  • municipal or regional governments; and
  • agencies of a provincial or territorial government.

What is the deadline?

The deadline for submitting a funding request for the 2009-2010 fiscal year has passed. The application guidelines are posted for reference purposes only.
