Each year, students ages 5 to 18 are invited to take part in the Canada Day Poster Challenge by designing a theme-based poster that illustrates their pride in Canada and in being Canadian. This year's theme is With Glowing Hearts!

Olympic Games 2010

What’s really big news for the 2009 Poster Challenge? The Grand Prize for the national winner will be an all inclusive trip of a lifetime to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games! Imagine being there to experience the excitement of the Opening Ceremony of Canada's Games as the eyes of the world turn to our nation in 2010! Watch our athletes as they take to the ice and the slopes and cheer on Canada's Olympians as they go for gold.

The 13 provincial and territorial finalists will win a trip to Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day on Parliament Hill. In addition, the winning entry will become the official poster for Celebrate Canada, a series of activities happening across the country including:

  • National Aboriginal Day, June 21
  • Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, June 24
  • Canadian Multiculturalism Day, June 27
  • Canada Day, July 1

From June to September, the Canadian Children's Museum at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec, will exhibit the artwork of all 13 provincial and territorial finalists.
